Those were the years when the courageous voices saying "We will not allow the Turkish flag to be taken down from the Turkish skies" were silenced with a hail of bullets; those were the years when Interior Ministers paid well-wishers' visits to the red terrorists who shot police chiefs and boasted about arresting three idealists in exchange for one communist; those were the years when generals were treacherously shot.
