Bilgeoğuz Publishing was founded in 1999 in Istanbul by author Oğuzhan Cengiz. Our founder decided to establish his own publishing house after encountering challenges during his writing journey. His first book, Yanık Kale, and the second, Kapı Altı, which quickly reached a wide readership, became a guide in shaping our fundamental publishing principle: good stories should be accessible to everyone.
Today, our catalog includes over 1,600 works. With publications in history, Turkish political history, culture, and literature, we address both academic circles and curious readers, continuing our vision of providing opportunities for new authors. The Bilgecan brand, which joined us in 2006, focuses on original and classic children’s books, while the Fosil brand concentrates on social history and anthropology.
In the 26th year of our publishing journey, our mission goes beyond being a bridge between readers and authors; we aim to reach broader audiences internationally. As a contemporary publishing house keeping pace with the 21st century, we work to translate our books into world languages and make them available on digital and international platforms. We believe that a good book resonates not only in its own region but worldwide.
