Dear readers, with this book you are holding, I have tried to tell the story of the idealist heroes of an era as much as I can and as much as my pen can.
As a writer, in the misty and dark environment of that period, I have somehow crossed paths with people I met somewhere, drank tea with, had dinner with or struggled together with in various parts of the country; I had a hard time writing about my friends, with whom I went through hardships and emptying the prison labyrinths and whom I knew well.
In this book, I tried to tell the story of over fifty of my friends from Taşmedrese.
If I live long enough and my friends agree, I will write about another fifty of my friends from Taşmedrese.
I did not resort to a boring subject like a resume here.
While writing about my friends, I tried to convey even a little of their treasured memories.
I gave priority to very striking, interesting, funny, sad and exemplary memories.
