While William was running through the streets of Maraş, he didn’t even notice the dogs chasing him.
He was both crying with anger.
And rebelling against what he heard.
After a long time, he came to a secluded part of the city and threw himself under a tree;
he raised his hands to the sky:

"O my Lord, the most high!
Forgive us for the sins we have committed since Your servant Adam!
Please forgive us, Your rebellious servants, now!..
My Lord; Your servants, whom You created because You wanted to be known, have committed no sin for their own recognition!
When you said brotherhood, we said enmity and strife.
When you said love, we said grudge and hatred!
We, Your servants, whom You created throughout time, have always tried to teach you religion!
We have interpreted religion as we please and made ourselves idols!
Our crime is so great that I feel ashamed even asking for forgiveness from You!
