After the 1960 coup d'état in Türkiye, a new constitution came into force in 1961.
This constitution was truly one that brought the broadest freedoms Türkiye had ever seen.
But this constitution also opened up a wide field of activity for the enemies of Turkey and Turks who had been operating underground until then.
Many publications that knowingly or unknowingly served Russian and Chinese imperialism came into play during that period.

As the youth of that day, in order to fight against this in the same field, we published an intellectual and literary magazine called ZEREN, which I hosted, and we published our articles first in that magazine and then in other magazines and newspapers.
Our articles, stories and poems were written with a socialist understanding.
Our line against those who used poverty and destitution as a tool of exploitation was met with great interest and resonated at that time.
