The greatest Muslim-Turkish jurist, international law and theology scholar Sarakhsî (Born: 400 AH, 1009-1010 AD, Death: AH.
481 AD, 1090) was born in the city of Sarakhs in the ancient Turkish homeland of Khorasan.
He was educated in the Turkish lands throughout his life and lived in cities under the rule of the Karakhanids, the largest Turkish world state of the time. He was imprisoned and passed away in the historical Turkish city of Fergana before being laid to rest in the city of Özgen, which is within the borders of the Republic of Kyrgyzstan.
The 31-volume work titled al-Mabsut, which he dictated to his students while he was imprisoned in a well, is a magnificent treasure trove of knowledge, the first and only in its field.
